I have been on both sides of Hazelwood police department. Once I was protesting a business, things got a bit heated, I had to firmly assert my rights, and they were respected in the end. Overall this department is one of the best I have had to deal with. Even when I had to stand firm, they were fair. I have been stopped by them many times, mostly as a younger man. I can say I was never unfairly treated, and even when they were not happy with my activities-they were respectful and explained the situation in a manner that was clear and non-threatening. If only all police departments were this good-our country would be not only safer, but a better place to live. I am very pleased with Hazelwood Police Department from the rookie patrolman to the watch commanders and the Chief. I understand that police work can be grueling and at times unrewarding, hats off to your department. As a Hazelwood resident, I couldnt ask for more. A+
After my car accident the Hazelwood Police were the ones on the scene. They were very helpful and concerned for the situation. They were truly great and thankful I came out alive. They went above and beyond.
They abuse their authority and position to basically do whatever they want. There needs to be serious changes made. Though I have had two pleasant experiences with a hazelwood police officer, many people, including myself, have left or are in the process of moving out of their jurisdiction.
